For anyone who has ever suffered from Depression you know the struggle really is real just to get out of bed. Some individuals do need medication because the brain has literally been so depressed for so long you may need some help and that is ok; first and foremost talk to your doctor. Depression has biological factors which may require a specific set of meds. As a Counselor who has seen and treated various levels of this disease I can tell you that more sleep is NOT going to help you feel more rested. In fact; sleeping more is only going to add to your symptoms; your brain and body need stimulation!
[I always invite my clients to educate themselves and do thier research: Go ahead research pictures of a brain that is depressed and a brain that is not on a MRI. you will notice something right away. Comment below and tell me what you see]
Don't fall into the dangerous cycle that will only worsen your symptoms. The best thing you can do is get up and get moving!!! I don't care if that means going for a leisurely walk, hanging out with some of your more hilarious friends, or reading/writting something that is stimulating... DOIT! I know right now you are probably saying hmmm easier said than done;well I never said it was going to be easy.
Depression IS treatable, there is hope and I know you can do it!
